To kick off the week of negotiations, the Government of Canada and World Wildlife Fund for Nature invite you to join us for Partnerships Day Ottawa.
The high-level event will feature a full day of discussions centered around igniting momentum and collaboration through shared ambition, featuring remarks from UN leaders, governments, Indigenous Peoples, civil society, business leaders, and a variety of other partners, stakeholders and rights-holders.
Speakers will remind negotiators of their commitments to help end plastic pollution upon entering this process, and emphasize the urgency of the 2024 timeline. Remarks will elevate the chord of unity around our shared treaty ambitions—inspiring action-oriented, energetic, focused and substantive discussions that keep negotiators on track to finalizing the treaty by the end of 2024.
A high-energy kick-off to invigorate attendees on the INC process to end plastic pollution and strike a chord of unity through shared treaty ambitions.
From 23 to 29 April 2024, the fourth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution (INC-4), will take place in Ottawa.
INC-4 marks the penultimate opportunity for the global community to work towards finalizing an international, legally-binding treaty on plastic pollution—a once-in-a-generation moment for governments, communities, stakeholders and businesses to create a world free of plastic pollution. As we approach the treaty negotiation deadline, it is time for momentum, collaboration, and ambitious action to finalize a legally binding treaty.
